Rural | Relaxing | Accessible

The Cottage is a cosy, self-contained accommodation for 2 adults designed to help you relax and unwind – curling up by the wood burning stove or enjoying the rural views. It is also a great base for exploring and adventuring.

We have designed The Cottage to be as accessible as possible, although the 3ft thick stone walls means that we have not been able to widen the existing doorways. It is single-story and suitable for a lightweight wheelchair. The kitchen and bathroom are adapted for ease of use.

The Cottage has a private wood burning hot tub. We provide enough logs for one night’s use. You can bring your own extra logs or buy more from us. We will explain how to use the hot tub – it takes about 2 hours to fire up.

We provide fresh baked sourdough bread, eggs from our chickens, butter, milk, tea & coffee. Breakfast meat or BBQ meat bundles, cheese or antipasti board and picnic lunches are available upon request.

We are passionate about providing an eco-friendly experience for you – with organic and locally sourced products and food wherever possible.

The Cottage is available from £110 per night with a minimum two-night stay for two adults.

Please contact us to book. The calendar is an indication of availability but not definitive!

The Cottage is self-contained ground floor accommodation adjoining Aikenhead House – a unique country house and small-holding 3 miles from Blairgowrie. A perfect romantic, peaceful getaway.

The Cottage has an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with a wood burning stove, a bedroom with a kingsize bed and a single day bed and a wetroom style shower room. Outside The Cottage has a decking area and a private wood burning hot tub. Parking is situated next to the front door.

Views from The Cottage are to the South and over arable land. You can see the local Osprey’s nest from the windows! The outside seating area and hot tub have views across the garden to the West.

Guests will have access to The Cottage via your own private entrance (Stable door). You are also welcome to wander around the small-holding (but please shut gates if you visit the animals!).

We have additional accommodation for groups if required – with a large sitting room and dining room to use together – please contact us for more information.

We are both more than happy to socialise – but equally can just be on call if needed.

Adam is based at the house and is happy to give you ideas on places to visit and places to eat.

Rosie is a walk and cycle leader and a passionate wild swimmer and is happy to organise activities for guests or give maps for adventures. We can also arrange kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, bike hire (road or mountain) and other local activities.

We are developing an organic vegetable garden and planning to become as self-sufficient as possible and are happy to show you our plans and developments.

Dogs are welcome and can stay in The Cottage.

We ask you to keep dogs off the furniture. A cage is available to use if requested.

Dogs MUST be kept on a lead outside as we have free range chickens and other animals.

We ask for dogs not to be left unattended in The Cottage.

Please check with us before you feed anything to the animals – they do enjoy treats but the wrong type of food could make them ill.
